Admissions
Admission Criteria
• Children ages 6 to 11
• Adolescents ages 12 to 17
• Males and Females
• Average (70) range of intelligence or above
• Parent support and treatment commitment
• Diagnosed psychiatric disorder as described in the DSMIV-R
• Failure of treatment at a lower level of care or inpatient
treatment
• Recent high-risk of dependency behaviors indicating severely
impaired judgment
• Emotional and/or behavioral problems escalating to a level
requiring 24-hour care and supervision.
Exclusions from Compass would include clients who are medically
unstable or requiring administration of insulin for management of
diabetes mellitus. Further exclusions include below average IQ, sex
offenders or clients with a history of violent or physically
aggressive behavior. Compass will review every referral and make an
appropriate recommendation based on the clinical presentation.
Financial Options
Compass is covered
by most insurance plans. Clients referred to Compass must complete a
psychosocial assessment at which time the insurance company is
notified for authorization. In the event insurance does not cover,
we will meet with families to discuss self-pay arrangements.
