The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at Compass Intervention Center is a comprehensive, outpatient program designed individually to meet each patient’s specific psychiatric illness, behavioral problems, and/or substance abuse issues. The program is less intensive than inpatient psychiatric services; however, the program provides more structure and intervention than an individual would receive in a traditional outpatient setting. PHP and IOP are offered onsite and facility-based. The programs offer a variety of groups and intervention services, each tailored to meet the needs of the individual. Unlike inpatient programs, PHP and IOP allows participants to engage in intensive group therapy by day and return to their home at the end of the program day.

Ongoing success is dependent upon the family and patient’s access to community resources, which provide assistance and support for a continuum of care. The programs assist with collaboration and consultation with outside agencies to help increase the patient and family’s access to community resources. The goal of each program is to reduce psychiatric and behavioral symptoms and empower patients to maintain the highest quality of life while in the community.
