Art Therapy

Art Therapy is offered in a group setting off campus at the Dixon Gallery and Gardens weekly for 8 weeks. Art Therapy assists patients with increasing self-awareness, addressing trauma, and increasing coping skills. The children work with Art Therapist as part of the “Teen Studio” program.  Art Therapy utilizes visual art as a part of the therapeutic process. The children explore art as a therapeutic tool in various mediums including watercolors, sculpture, graffiti, and mixed media.  The museum provides each child a membership free of charge, and samples of the artwork appear at the annual “Made in Dixon” show.
